Morton & Gettys’ leadership team is dedicated to keeping the firm on the path we have chosen. Managing Partner John Gettys and Chief Operating Officer Robin Owens lead our attorneys and staff in serving our clients and community with a wide range of legal services, a deep commitment to the Central Upstate and a collegial professionalism that puts everyone who comes to us at ease.
John Gettys is not only a co-founder of this firm, but currently serves as the mayor of Rock Hill. He practices in the areas of real estate, probate administration, probate litigation and personal injury. His public service extends beyond serving as mayor. He is also on the Jeffrey Williams Foundation and is a member of the advisory board of South State Bank. He has served as chairman of the Rock Hill Sports Commission.
John and his wife, Christi, live in Rock Hill with their three sons, Jack, Grier, and Evan.
Chief Operating Officer
When Robin Owens came to Morton & Gettys in 2002, it was a small two-person firm. As we have grown to more than 30 attorneys and staff, Robin’s job responsibilities have evolved. Today, she is the Chief Operating Officer, managing crucial financial, business and human resource operations that keep the firm running smoothly.
Her duties include overseeing all financial accounts and preparation of financial statements. She develops office policies and procedures as well as training programs. She administers employee benefit programs and employment policies.
Robin is a magna cum laude graduate of Winthrop University with a bachelor of science in government and public service. She also is a member of the National Association of Legal Administrators.
She is the District 4 representative on the Rock Hill Schools Board of Trustees. She was elected to a four-year term, serving from November 2018 until November 2022.
She lives in Rock Hill with her husband Roger. They have two daughters, Julia and Lily.
