Nate Pierce is new president of York County Bar Association
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Nate Pierce, an attorney with Morton & Gettys, is the new president of the York County Bar Association.
He became president of the local bar on May 19.
“We’ve always been impressed with Nate’s talents and abilities,” Morton & Gettys co-founder John Gettys said. “His election as Bar president, particularly at such a young age, indicates that his peers in York County hold him in high regard as well.”
Pierce is a Rock Hill native who joined Morton & Gettys in 2017. His practice focuses on civil litigation, including construction and business disputes.
He received his juris doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2016. He received a number of awards during his three years in law school, including a CALI Award, the Claud Sapp Award, and membership in Phi Delta Phi legal honor fraternity and the Konduros Leadership Development Program.
After law school, he clerked for the Hon. John C. Hayes III, a Circuit Court judge based in York County.
He is admitted to practice in North Carolina as well as South Carolina and is a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar as well as York County’s.
Pierce earned his bachelor’s degree in economics at Clemson University in 2012. He has been a member of the board of Rock Hill Schools Foundation since 2018.
