Shiflet admitted to federal court practice

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – John Mark Shiflet, an attorney with Morton & Gettys, has been admitted to practice in U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.

This means he now is permitted to represent clients in federal criminal and civil cases throughout the state.

Shiflet’s practice at Morton & Gettys focuses on criminal defense, drunk driving cases and civil litigation. He’s handled more than 400 driving-related cases as a prosecutor and defense attorney, including DUI and license revocations, suspensions and reinstatements.

Prior to joining Morton & Gettys, Shiflet worked as an assistant prosecutor in York County.

Shiflet earned a degree in history at Furman University, where he also was a member of the football team. He earned his Juris Doctor at the Charleston School of Law.
