Morton & Gettys welcomes JD Bailey as an associate
Morton & Gettys is pleased to welcome back JD Bailey, this time as our newest associate.
His practice will focus on commercial real estate, land use and zoning, civil litigation, and corporate law.
JD previously worked as a law clerk at our firm, helping draft legal complaints, memos, and closing documents on multi-million-dollar real estate transactions in South Carolina and North Carolina. He’s a graduate of the Elon University School of Law, where he finished in the Top 10 of his class and was a member of the Elon Law Review.
In addition to his clerkship at Morton & Gettys, he served a legal internship and as a judicial resident for The Honorable Frank D. Whitney, United States District Judge for Western North Carolina. In that capacity, he participated in civil and criminal trials as well as in mediations.
JD was born and raised in the Lowcountry, where he grew up helping on his family’s farm until he left for college. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology, graduating cum laude while also playing NCAA baseball for the Patriots.
He is a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan and an avid follower of Clemson University sports. He also enjoys golf in his free time.
