Morton & Gettys welcomes Riddle as an associate

Davis C. Riddle has joined Morton & Gettys in Rock Hill, South Carolina as an associate. A licensed attorney who also holds a master’s in business administration, he will focus his practice on commercial leasing and real estate development as well as on business and corporate law.

Riddle simultaneously earned a juris doctor and MBA from the University of Georgia. He also attended Oxford University as a law school exchange student. His bachelor’s degree in economics is from Clemson University.

While working on his law degree and master’s, Riddle worked in both the legal and business fields. He served as an analyst in the investment banking division of a Charleston firm and as a law clerk in the civil and criminal divisions of the U.S. Attorney’s office in Columbia. In that position, he drafted court filings and appellate briefs and conducted legal research in such high-profile cases as U.S. v. Roof.

He combined both his legal and business training while serving as a law clerk at a Columbia firm where he analyzed financial portfolios, including investments, real estate and other assets.

After completing law school, he worked as a finance intern for a statewide campaign, making sure all donations complied with South Carolina finance laws.

Riddle, who grew up in Irmo, is active in the community as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
