For the eighth consecutive year, Morton & Gettys has earned a top honor in Best Law Firms®.

The just-released 2027 update of the national directory places Morton & Gettys in Tier 1 for its work in Land Use and Zoning Law in the Rock Hill area. Morton & Gettys also earned Tier 2 honors for the Rock Hill area in Commercial Litigation and Litigation – Trusts and Estates.

Published annually since 2010, Best Law Firms aims to create credible rankings of law firms based on peer review and industry-driven evaluation.

To be included in Best Law Firms, at least one of the firm’s attorneys must be selected for the same year’s edition of Best Lawyers in America®. Morton & Gettys qualified when nine of its attorneys were selected for the 2027 editions of Best Lawyers and its companion piece, Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch.

The attorneys were honored across a dozen practice areas, including real estate law, family law, and corporate law-related disciplines. The variety of categories reflects the depth of the firm’s capabilities in representing individuals and businesses with a wide range of legal needs.

The Best Law Firms selection process also includes references from clients and other professionals who are asked to evaluate firms on factors such as experience, responsiveness, civility, cost-effectiveness and whether they would recommend the firm to others. Best Law Firms also conducts research that includes asking other lawyers to provide feedback on competitors. All the data is combined into a score used to place firms into tiers with other firms in the same practice area and same geographic location.
