Leah Anderson McCraney chooses KinderMourn to receive second M&G Gives gift of 2022

KinderMourn provides support services to parents grieving the loss of a child and to children grieving the loss of a parent or another important person in their lives.  Serving the greater Charlotte area, KinderMourn offers counseling programs, support groups, and other resources to those who have suffered unthinkable loss.

Leah is a Senior Paralegal with Morton & Gettys.  Leah and her family personally experienced the transformative support offered by KinderMourn following the death of their second child, Nolan.  In Leah’s words, “KinderMourn equipped us with the tools to endure the grief.  They empowered us to sit with the grief, never to avoid it, hold our boundaries, stay in our integrity, and do what works for our little family.”

Morton & Gettys is proud to honor Nolan’s memory with our gift to KinderMourn to support their mission of providing hope for bereaved parents, grieving children, and teens.

“We are beyond blessed and thankful for Leah’s donation, Morton & Gettys’s donation,” said Sarah Porter, development director of the agency. “This allows KinderMourn to continue providing hope and healing to all who need us.”

If you would also like to help in KinderMourn’s mission, Sarah Porter says the best opportunity of the year is coming up very soon. It’s the annual KinderMourn Hope Floats Duck Race on May 15. It involves 30,000 rubber ducks floating down rapids at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte. Adopt a duck to give. Start a team or contribute to a team. Winning ducks mean cash prizes for their sponsors. Learn more at the website: https://www.kindermourn.org/.
