Bev Carroll named to “Influential Women of Law” list

Congratulations to Bev Carroll, who has been named to South Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s inaugural “Influential Women of Law” list in the magazine’s June 18 edition.

Selection criteria include leadership, business acumen, mentoring, community involvement, and contributions to the legal field. The award’s goal is to spotlight women leaders in South Carolina’s legal community.

Bev Carroll certainly has a long track record of leadership. She has served as president of the South Carolina Bar and currently is a member of the organization’s policy-setting House of Delegates. She has held leadership positions in either the state Bar or the South Carolina Bar Foundation continuously since 1997. She is currently serving a three-year term on the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association.

Bev is a leader in the Rock Hill community, too. She currently chairs the Rock Hill Public Parks & Recreation Commission and has served as the President of the Rock Hill Economic Development Board as well on numerous other community boards.

Bev is a certified specialist in employment law and certified civil court mediator who is licensed in North Carolina as well as South Carolina. Her practice at Morton & Gettys includes working with businesses of all sizes on a variety of issues ranging from day-to-day operations to policy advice to regulatory compliance. She serves as a business consultant and also is a skilled litigator representing clients in state and federal courts. Her litigation portfolio ranges from employment discrimination claims to business disputes.

She has earned numerous professional accolades throughout her career, including multiple honors in “Best Lawyers in America” and “Super Lawyers” as well as Martindale-Hubble’s top AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating. She also is a recipient of the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law Alumni Council Compleat Platinum Award. That honor recognizes outstanding professionalism and civic accomplishment.
