Bev Carroll concludes term as SC Bar president

Morton & Gettys attorney Bev Carroll is closing out a successful year of leadership of the South Carolina Bar on Thursday, when her term as president of the 16,000-member organization concludes.

The firm is proud of Bev’s deep commitment to serving the legal profession and proud of all that she’s accomplished. “Few have answered the call to service so often and so effectively,” firm co-founder John Gettys said. “It is an honor to work alongside her.”

Bev has a long record of service to the Bar, beginning in 1997 when she was first elected to the House of Delegates. She’s been on the Board of Governors since 2016, a position she’ll continue to hold for the next year when she becomes the Bar’s immediate past president.

A certified employment law specialist and skilled litigator, Bev is an experienced business counselor who works with companies of all sizes. She represents businesses on a wide array of matters, representing them in court when necessary and advising them on day-to-day operations.

Her practice at Morton & Gettys includes complex cases involving non-compete agreements, employment discrimination, trade-secrets lawsuits and more. Bev also is a certified mediator who can help parties reach settlements without protracted and expensive litigation.
