Raad listed in 2016 Best Lawyers in America
ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – Morton & Gettys senior counsel Joseph L. Raad is included in the 2016 Best Lawyers in America, a publication widely regarded as one of the country’s leading directories of legal professionals.
Raad is listed in the just-released edition in the practice area of Trust and Estates, the fifth consecutive year he has been so recognized.
Best Lawyers is widely regarded as among the leading peer-review publications covering the legal profession. Inclusion is selective and must begin with a nomination from a fellow attorney or someone in the community. Nominees then undergo an exhaustive examination by peers before final selections are determined.
The guide is released in print in partnership with US News, and the directory is online at bestlawyers.com.
One of only two certified specialists in Estate Planning and Probate law in the Rock Hill area, Raad’s practice at Morton & Gettys also includes business and corporate law and fiduciary services. He also advises clients in areas such as business succession planning and trust creation that can help preserve assets and let their heirs avoid a lengthy and expensive probate process. He’s handled complicated cases that have crossed state and county lines.
He’s a member of the South Carolina Bar Estate Planning and Probate Law Section Committee and he often shares his professional knowledge with others, speaking to groups on the topics of probate law and estate planning.
Raad earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business from Winthrop University and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1982. He brought more than 30 years’ experience in probate and estate planning law to Morton & Gettys when he joined the firm in 2014
