The honors go annually to people under 40 who demonstrate leadership, character and community service. This year’s class included young professionals representing nonprofits, small businesses, government agencies, law firms and more.

Morton & Gettys Chief Operating Officer Robin Owens nominated Cassell for the award. In doing so, she noted that in the first quarter of this year alone, Cassell has been responsible for more than $50 million in real estate and asset closings as part of her commercial real estate practice.

Cassell’s practice also includes business and corporate law, and employment law. She represents healthcare practitioners and facilities in everything from employment matters to partnership agreements. Additionally, she’s served as an adjunct professor at Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina School of Law.

She’s active in the community as well, serving as a board member for numerous organizations, including Children’s Attention Home, Affinity Health Center and Visit York County. She is a former chair of the Leadership York County and the Community Partnership Foundation.
