Elizabeth Smith Owen and Joe’Terrious Neal of Morton & Gettys are honored in the 2026 edition of South Carolina Legal Elite, an annual publication that recognizes distinguished attorneys across the state.

Neal was selected for his work in Personal Injury Law – Plaintiff. Owen was included in Family Law. Both were honored in the Upstate Region.

As part of the Morton & Gettys Personal Injury Group, Joe fights for clients in a full range of cases. This includes car accidents, trucking accidents, nursing home neglect, dog bites, medical malpractice, and wrongful death. As a motorcycle rider, he offers injured bikers added perspective in their cases. He is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina.

A deeply experienced family law attorney and member of the firm, Elizabeth represents clients in all facets of divorce, including child custody and visitation, child support, property division, and alimony and spousal support. She also assists with prenuptial agreements and adoptions. She is also a South Carolina certified family court mediator.

A vote of all active attorneys in the region determines the honorees. The publication’s goal is to identify lawyers who exemplify the highest standards of the legal profession.
