Morton & Gettys welcomes Bev Carroll
Beverly A. Carroll, a certified employment law specialist and president of the South Carolina Bar, has joined Morton & Gettys.
Her legal practice focuses on serving a variety of business needs, including compliance, licensing, employee disputes and complex litigation. She also advises businesses on operations, planning and mergers.
During decades of practice in Rock Hill, Carroll has represented business of all sizes and across a range of industries. This has included transportation companies, medical practices, manufacturing operations and commercial enterprises. She is a veteran litigator who stands ready to represent clients in court. She also advises businesses on day-to-day matters, including compliance, licensing and negotiations.
In the employment law realm, her work has included wage disputes, discrimination suits and non-competition and trade secrets litigation
Carroll is licensed in all state and federal courts in South Carolina and North Carolina, allowing her to represent clients in often-complex litigation through appeals in either state. She is a certified mediator in South Carolina, positioning her to help parties resolve their disputes outside of court.
Leader in the legal, Rock Hill communities
A longtime leader in the legal community, Carroll currently is the South Carolina Bar president. She has been on the Bar Board of Governors since 2016. Carroll is a past president of the South Carolina Bar Foundation, and she continues to serve on its board of directors.
Her commitment to serving the Rock Hill community is equally strong. She is on the Rock Hill Economic Development Corp. Board of Directors and the Rock Hill Public Parts & Recreation Commission. Carroll also serves on the Rock Hill Sports Commission Board of Directors. She is a past board member of the York Regional Chamber of Commerce and the South Carolina Recreation & Parks Association.
A graduate of Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina School of Law, Carroll was awarded the Platinum Compleat Lawyer Award in 2014. It is the top honor the School of Law Alumni Council awards, and it signifies outstanding professionalism and civic accomplishment.
