Cassell serving as president of York County Bar Association

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – Morton & Gettys attorney Melissa Cassell is the York County Bar Association’s new president.

She was elected this month to a one-year term. Cassell has served on the Bar’s Executive Committee for the past three years, including as vice president for the past year.

Cassell, who joined Morton & Gettys in 2013, focuses her practice on commercial real estate and corporate law. She represents a range of practitioners and businesses, helping them craft partnership agreements, employment contracts and more.

Cassell also assists business owners with issues such as formation, capitalization and organization of their companies. She is licensed in North Carolina as well as South Carolina in order to better assist clients whose matters cross state lines.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, Cassell returned to her alma mater as an adjunct professor to co-teach a capstone course on small business organization. She also served as a member of the law school’s Pro Bono Board.

Cassell is active in the Rock Hill community as well as in the legal community. She is a member the Affinity Health Center Board of Directors. She also serves on boards for the Come-See-Me Festival, Leadership York County and the Rock Hill Parks Foundation.
