Gettys, Vann, Raad included in 2019 Best Lawyers in America

The 2019 edition of Best Lawyers in America includes three attorneys from Morton & Gettys: John Gettys and Joshua Vann earned recognition in real estate law, while Joe Raad won honors in trusts and estates.

Raad is appearing in Best Lawyers in America for the fifth time. Gettys and Vann are included for the second consecutive year in what’s widely regarded as a leading publication covering the legal profession.

Gettys and Vann offer clients in a wide range of residential and commercial real estate services.

Gettys, one of the firm’s co-founders, concentrates on residential real estate. He helps clients with  purchases, refinancing and equity loans. He often serves as a closing attorney for top developers and builders in York County and beyond. His varied practice also includes civil litigation and probate.

Vann, also a partner at the Rock Hill, SC law firm, concentrates on commercial real estate, guiding projects from idea to completion. This includes assisting clients with finance and development. He has served as lead counsel in hundreds of millions of dollars in projects throughout South Carolina. He also has experience in land use and zoning law and can help clients obtain any permits and approvals they need.

Raad, a special counsel at Morton & Gettys, is a certified specialist in estate planning and probate. He works with clients of all wealth levels as part of his wide-ranging practice, assisting with anything from a simple will to complex high-value estate. This includes trust creation, business succession planning, asset management and more.

The Best Lawyers selection process begins with a nomination from a fellow lawyer. The selection criteria also include stringent evaluations from attorneys in the same practice area and geographic location.

A companion publication, Best Law Firms in America, will be released in November. Morton & Gettys was named a Best Law Firm in the past two editions in the practice area of trusts and estates law.
