Support Staff

Katie is a paralegal working primarily in commercial real estate.  She came to Morton & Gettys in 2015 as a legal secretary.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in criminal justice from Appalachian State University.

At Morton & Gettys, Katie prepares closing documentation, reviews title reports, and ensures that proper documentation is filed with the North and South Carolina Secretaries of State. She also prepares legal descriptions in preparation for closing, and monitors financial transactions along the way. Additionally, she prepares post-closing documentation, including title insurance policies. Throughout the entire process, she facilitates communications between attorneys, lenders and clients to help ensure that the transaction is completed as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
