Gettys, Vann, Raad included in 2018 Best Lawyers in America
ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – The just-released edition of Best Lawyers in America honors three Morton & Gettys attorneys: John Gettys and Joshua Vann in real estate law and Joe Raad in trusts and estates.
Raad is appearing in Best Lawyers in America for the fifth time. Gettys and Vann are making their debuts in what’s widely regarded as the leading peer-reviewed publication covering the legal profession.
Gettys and Vann, partners in the firm, represent clients in a wide range of residential and commercial real estate issues.
Gettys, one of the firm’s co-founders, focuses on the residential side. He assists with purchases, refinancing and equity loans. He often serves as a closing attorney for many of the top developers and builders in York County and beyond. His varied legal practice also includes probate and civil litigation.
Vann concentrates on commercial real estate, including development and finance. He has served as lead counsel in hundreds of millions of dollars in development projects throughout South Carolina, guiding them from idea to completion. He also has experience in land use and zoning law and can help clients obtain permits and approvals they need to move their projects forward.
Raad, senior counsel at Morton & Gettys, is a certified specialist in estate planning and probate. Trust formation and administration are a key part of estate planning for many of his clients. He works with clients of all wealth levels as part of his wide-ranging practice, assisting with anything from a simple will to a complex high-value estate.
About 2018 Best Lawyers
In order to be included in Best Lawyers, attorneys first must be nominated by a fellow lawyer. The selection criteria also include stringent evaluations by attorneys in the same practice area and same geographic location. All the data are analyzed to determine the final selection.
