Six from Morton & Gettys included in 2025 edition of Best Lawyers
ROCK HILL, SC – The latest edition of Best Lawyers in America includes another strong showing for Morton & Gettys. Six of the firm’s attorneys have earned honors in the 2025 edition of the national directory and its companion piece, Best Lawyers: One to Watch.
Most of the recognized attorneys were listed in multiple practice areas, with many of the firm’s honors coming for its litigation work. Attorneys also are included in real estate law, trusts and estates, and family law, a variety of practice areas that speaks to the wide range of services the firm can offer clients.
The attorneys were honored in the following areas:
Dan Ballou: Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Construction, Litigation – Land Use and Zoning, Litigation – Municipal, and Litigation – Real Estate.
Bev Carroll: Employment Law – Management, and Litigation – Labor and Employment.
John Gettys, Jr.: Litigation – Trusts and Estates, Real Estate Law, and Trusts and Estates.
Elizabeth Owen: Family Law and Family Law Mediation.
Joshua Vann: Real Estate Law.
Heath Myers: Real Estate Law, Ones to Watch.
The just-released new edition continues Morton & Gettys’ long history of success in the peer-reviewed publication. John Gettys and Josh Vann have been included in seven consecutive editions of the national directory.
Morton & Gettys also has been highlighted in every Best Law Firms in America edition since 2017. Firms that have at least one attorney listed in Best Lawyers are eligible for inclusion. The 2025 edition of Best Law Firms will be released in November.
About Best Lawyers
For more than 40 years, “Best Lawyers in America” has served as a complete guide to the nation’s leading attorneys. Nominations from clients or other attorneys are the first step in the selection process. Next, attorneys in the same practice areas and cities assess the nominees. Independent researchers verify attorneys’ credentials before final selection.
“Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch” uses the same process in honoring attorneys who have practiced for less than 10 years.
